Inspired by Ronald Reagan as he led our country in a new direction in 1980, Steve Loflin resolved to make a bold life decision of his own. At age 35, with a wife and 3 young children (and no money to afford a dog), he left a 15 year career as a high school teacher & coach for an opportunity as an agent with the Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. Often reminded of the grim reality that only 1 out of 10 new agents make it past their 1st year, Steve was determined to beat the odds to better provide for his family. His strong conviction & hard work would soon meet with success, and in his 2nd year he'd earn the company’s top honors.
In 1983, Steve concluded that he simply could not meet his clients’ diverse financial needs with the resources of just one company. So he took another chance and set off on his own to start an independent investment firm that evolved into Loflin Financial. Steve's vision was to create a close-knit, hometown firm that hung its hat on independent advice and old-fashioned personal service. With hard work and long hours, the company would eventually grow to serve clients across 13 states.
Since 1998 Loflin Financial has matured into a genuine family business. After finishing college, each of Steve’s three children would pursue their own individual interests and then later choose to join the company that their father had poured his heart and soul into. Currently, three generations of the Loflin family work together to maintain a broad range of clients’ financial well-being. To this day, Steve regards his family's’ mutual dedication as the greatest contributor to the business's success.
Now, after 25 years, little has changed in what we believe makes a quality financial firm – people you can trust providing the personal service you deserve. And so we remain simply a Greensboro family serving other families’ financial needs.
