President & Advisor
steve loflin

Steve began advising clients in 1980, after he left a 15 year career in teaching and coaching for an opportunity as an agent with the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company. Though he was often reminded of the grim reality that only one out of 10 new agents make it past their first year, he was determined to beat the odds in order to better provide for his wife and three young children. Soon this conviction paid off and he would earn the company’s top honors.

After two years as a career agent, Steve soon determined that he simply could not meet his clients’ diverse needs with the resources of just one company. So in 1983, he took another chance and set off on his own to start an independent financial group that would later evolve into Loflin Financial. Steve's vision was to create a close-knit, hometown firm that hung its hat on independent advice and old-fashioned personal service. With hard work and long hours, his firm would eventually grow to involve over 40 agents across North Carolina.

As President, he articulates our firm's vision and is ultimately responsible for the firm's overall investment and insurance strategies. He works with individuals and small businesses across the country applying the unique expertise he has acquired from his 26 years of experience.

Steve enjoys working with a diverse array of clients... That includes high net worth individuals, individuals and families in various stages of creating their financial futures and includes wonderful families struggling to make ends meet. With the heart of a teacher, Steve enjoys working with any individual or organization that would benefit from sound financial guidance.
